The Dimboola Court House

THE DIMBOOLA COURT HOUSE1875

My father was an active member of the Dimboola and District Historical Society and, at his urging, I wrote a short history of the Dimboola Court House which the Society acquired and moved to its new location around 2002. The Society now uses the Court House as its meeting place and local museum. The other museum the Society owns and operates is the Print Museum which is there Dimboola’s local newspaper, the ‘Dimboola Banna’ used to be published. The Society took it over as a working print shop and all the equipment there, including the lynotype machine, is in working order. If you happen to be driving along the Western Highway and have time to drop in to the Court House and Print Museum it is a worthwhile experience, though you have to book in advance. The Society’s website is: dimboolahistory.org.au
